The bike sounds "clattery" at idle,is this normal?

perhaps a bit when it's cold. Once the engine warms up there should be no clatter.

there are a couple of countershafts, long high-velocity chains, two overhead cams, two counterbalance shafts, a dynamic balancer, oil pump, a (disengaged) clutch with multiple springs and rollers, a driven side variator, a (undriven) drive belt, all in motion at idle and stretched out front to rear.
Kind of amazing if you don't hear something going on.

Its mostly the belt flapping around..normal.

Thanks guys...just got the bike last April and haven't ridden that much ( torn rotator cuff...still in therapy) . Actually bought it from another forum member...Bicyclenut! He seems to have taken REALLY good care of it.
