2013 C600 Rear Brakes

When the road is wet and I brake hard my rear brakes stutter / flutter a lot. Physically my rear brake lever vibrates rapidly in my hand when I brake hard. On soft to medium braking it acts normal but really braking hard causes it to do this, it's so bad it's difficult to hold onto. I assume it is something going wrong with the ABS. Anyone else run across this?

It's the ABS. The stock bike is set-up, like most, to lock the rear WAY too early compared to the front, so under harder braking the rear is locking and the ABS is kicking in. I'd play with your brake pad coefficient of friction to alleviate that, going for the more aggressive front formulation of performance sintered pads, with a milder rear formulation. Should delay the ABS kicking in and increase your overall brake efficiency!

My brother's 2012 Tmax 530, which he imported from Canada, used to lock-up the rear brakes WAY too easily, as they kept the same front rotor size from the 500 but put larger rear rotors on. We upgraded the front brakes only to EBC HH Sintered pads, but left the rear with the stock Organic pads on. The resultant brake bias eliminated 90% of his premature rear brake lock-up......
