Want to get good service at your dealer? When I was an auto mechanic even the most jaded mechanics remembered the guys who gave them a tip.
Who were the best tippers? Working people. The worst tippers? Yep, the more expensive the car the least likely the owner would give a tip. I worked on Porsche's, Mercedes, BMW's and almost never got a tip. When I worked on economy cars and general shops you got tipped several times a week. Who always got the best service?
Even a cup of coffee was remembered. It's not so much the money as the appreciation.

Ain't that the truth. Though sometimes awkward, letting the guy working on your car (or bike) know that you appreciate their effort goes a long way. And in my mind it really doesn't cost more. I've brought pizza in to the shop and, of course, stuck a five or a ten in a guy's hand here and there. One time, they completely detailed my car after a service...my cost...a twenty dollar tip. I know my service manager and a couple of the mechanics by first name and they know me by first name. My guess is, my car is pretty well taken care of.

Same goes for my bikes, at least from what I can tell. Only one disappointing experience and that was at the same dealer that dropped Spdrush's bike.

Still, trust but verify. Anyone can make a mistake or forget something.
