AeroFlow Windscreen Low - First Impression

Are you referring to my post about turning in my mirrors? The reason I do is I have to back in the bike at an angle to avoid my car and a couple of times now I have caught the left mirror on the edge of the garage when I don't do it. So I should tell the Doctor that it hurts when I don't do it.
 
Apologies for the flippant response. But do you have to crank the mirrors ALL the way to get the necessary clearance? Would turning them in partially provide enough clearance?
 
Have not tried to turn in mirrors but doubt that is the issue. The windshield doesn't move at all, not even enough to hit mirrors. As you can see from the picture there is plenty of clearance in the upright position but thanks for the suggestion.
 
If I don't turn my left mirror all the way in I risk hitting the side of the garage or the track with the mirror. In order for me to turn my mirrors all the way in I have to lower the windshield all the way down and then the mirrors still rub against the edge of the wind shield. Engineering flaw. I had to turn in the mirrors on my Burgman 650 which was no problem. I cleaned out the front of my garage so I can pull my car in a little more so I have more room between my car and the garage door so it's not a problem but I was just curious to know if the new shield would allow clearance to turn in the mirrors without having to lower the shield all the way down.

BTW Jamie I didn't find your response flippant, I wasn't sure if your response was in reference to me or not. As you can see I have solved two problems; 1 I got around to cleaning out my garage, and 2 I don't have to turn in my mirrors anymore but I still have to be careful. I still have to roll backwards into the garage at a 45 deg angle avoiding the car on my right and the garage on my left. I feel lucky that I didn't break the mirror on a couple of times where I got the mirror hung up in the garage door track.
 
I bought and installed the Aeroflow - large size. It definitely improves airflow at the face level. At highest elevation, it becomes "look thru", which would be nice in heavy rain. Otherwise, I can look over and still have full face wind protection if I desire.
 
I took the advice (ok, de facto advice) of the people on this forum, and bought an Airflow windshield. I am glad I did. I can confirm that it is an improvement over the stock windscreen. It's not that the stock windscreen doesn't work fine, it does, but the Airflow is just better. I am 5' 10" and the standard height Airflow windscreen is the correct size for me.

Hi All,
I am a first time bike owner (2014 C650 GT) and thanks to the feedback on this thread, I have also bought the taller windscreen. Haven't yet received it but will post my feedback as well.

I am sure we will probably run into each other one of these days…there are not many 650 GT owners in Nassau.

I love the bike and have received so many positive compliments from people including Motorcyclists. How about you?
 
I get a lot of good-natured crap from the guys in my motorcycle club, but I also get a LOT of questions from non-riders. A lot of the people at my office always stop me and ask me about it too.
 
Sounds like Long Island may have surpassed Chagrin Falls in total Beemer scooter owners....But not per capita ownership :D

Adding this re: "getting good natured crap"....They know, of course, that you have MUCHO miles on your 1200 (more than most of them, no doubt) so I am sure they "respect the guy on the bike".

I'm planning on installing an Air Flow. For some reason all the big three scooters, Silverwing, Burgman and BMW don't seem to put a good screen on their machines. I changed my old Silverwing from stock to a Givi Airflow adjustable windshield and felt it was a great improvement. I don't know why BMW put such a good screen on my K1100LT and such a poor one on the scooter. I ride with the K1100's screen down most any time it's not raining but can't do that with the scooter, it's up mostly of the time.

I actually did order and received it before I got the scooter delivered after reading about it here, but did not unpack and mount it until yesterday because the stock one have not been that "bad".

Well I did buy the tall one at about +6'2", the shape makes up for a much more effective deflection of the air at corresponding heights of the stock one and the new one goes so high that I in the highest position have a clear see thru.

I now believe that the size below the one I bought might have been enough for me but it is does not matter that much because the adjustable height all in all is good enough to get it as low as I want it in the lowest position.

It's very well made and a good fit, given now I just tried it for a shorter distance I conclude it was totally worth the money IMO.
