Alarm/Security System

Hi all! Just purchased a C 400 GT. Really enjoying it but have run into an issue. The key fob doesn’t seem to arm the alarm on the scooter. Tried changing the battery, searching the manual, but no luck.

I also called the dealer and they were of course clueless and no help. Perhaps the dealer is supposed is supposed to activate the alarm before selling?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I was under the impression that the Alarm was an additional OEM accessory. Funny, because even my $2700 Honda Super Cub 125 has both an alarm and a fork lock. All of the other 11 bikes I've owned since 1976 have had fork locks.

06 June 2022 Addendum - My BMW Dealer parts guys state that adding the alarm system is another $550 investment. I did not follow through with that as I have a disk lock, though I don't like using them. Mostly I park the bike and sit inside where I can watch it, or use the disk lock if I can't keep a visual on the bike. At home I keep it in the garage.

Thanks for the response! I was able to confirm with another mechanic today that that is indeed the case, so I’m taking it in next week to have the alarm installed.
