Back Tire

I have been reading about others needing a new front tire but no one has really mentioned the back tire.
How far are you guys going on your back tire?
Today I picked up a screw and rode home with the little }÷{»}«} in it I watched the pressure drop from 38lb all the way down to 22lb. At the 26lb point the dash Warning light started to flash along with the pressure indicator. 11150 miles, I think I may have gone another 1500 miles but I will never know now.

I got a shade over 10K miles on my original back tire. About what I expected, actually.

Both my front and rear tires have worn about the same, at about 4500 miles they are shot, was hoping to make it to at least 6000 miles, I don't think I can.

I recon i could have stretched to 8000 miles on my rear pirelli but because it had squared off i rwplaced it at 3500 with my front. It will come in as a spare if i get stuck with a nasty puncture.

I usually replace both tires when one of the tires is past its usefulness because more than likely the better of the two will be on its way out shortly there after.

The pattern seems to be two front tires per one rear tire. That was the same experience I had with the Yamaha TMAX, actually.

This thread got me thinking about the internet's worst tire check video (by yours truly...made one evening when screwing around with a new phone a few months ago plus I apparently have trouble counting...uh hey Steve, it's one tire in front and one on the rear - not tire's'....then again I think that might have been a Chivas Regal night and may have actually thought I saw two in the back and two up front ).

Anyhow....after a second look, I realized that the rear tire on the GT was fine (8,000 miles) but the front was pretty well worn. I replaced both but really only needed a front tire. What a putz. Oh well, I guess I just wanted new shoes front and rear. I've wasted money on worse things. Good thing my "tire check" didn't show the KLR needed new tires. They were less than a couple thousand miles old.
