I've been considering the 650 Sport - however I noticed they are no longer showing them on the BMW build site and few dealers have them in stock.

Was there anything wrong with them?

Does anyone know why they stopped offering the sport model.

Is there a reason I should get he GT instead?

Many Thanks in advance

Mike

They sell more sports than GT's in Europe; here it's the other way around. They are getting the more cruise-oriented rider, rather than someone who'll push it in the twisties. If you're going to get (take a chance on...see Jaime's thread) a BMW, the Sport is the one. Lighted, better-looking and quicker all-around.

If you dig deep enough you can still find them on the website:

Thanks I rode a 650 GT today, looks like BMW has this thing figured out, nice stock exhaust tone, super power, stable ride and steering and excellent slow speed handling, I was almost stopped riding two up and through a parking lot and it was super easy to keep up.

A few questions are:

Will the Sport ride as good or better?

Is the Blind side warning available in the US models?

-- I think they are about the same bike except a bit less tupperware on the Sport. Folks who like storage like the GT.

-- Not in US. But if you search posts on this site you'll see a few complaints of it being over intrusive.
