Oh Yeah, how do we know there is a "scooter" under there, it might actually be a motorcycle!!
The question's I have are; is it breathable fabric, and where are you parking when you use it. If you park where the ground is damp, non breathable fabric will trap moisture and cause corrosion more rapidly.
Also note, squirrels (rats and chipmunks) will feel much more comfortable with a cover over their winter quarters.

100 bucks for an all weather cover is not too bad. I get the cheap variety (less than $30 I think and available at most auto parts stores, Walmart, etc.) because I only use mine when I travel. No doubt the kind I buy would not be for outside storage. This one probably could handle it no problem.
