BMW GPS Mount Installation

I'm running into an issue installing the BMW GPS Mount. I've followed all the steps outlined in the instruction manual and the mount is loose on the cradle. I can move it up and down.

I think it might have to do with step 12 in the manual. It references installing the cross member and hand tighten the screws followed by putting the two halves of the clamping element on the cross member and installing the screws.

Do I need really tighten the screws in the cross member or the clamp element to prevent it from flopping around? Or is there something else I'm missing?

I looked at the directions, and it appears that might be the problem, although with out seeing what's happening you I can't be sure.

tighten everything, it all needs to be clamped up. did you install the foam strips to the plastic block before clamping them together?

Hi Yellasei. I did install the foam straps in the clamping block so I don't think that's issue. I think the screws in the clamping bolt or cross member might the issue.

was just a thought, i have seen the blocks assembled without the strips and this gives the same issue. i would just tighten everything and see what it's like then. ive fitted 3 to 650 GT's and all have been ok.
