BMW OEM slipstream deflectors (wind protection for your hands) pics of GT and Sport

http://www.ascycles.com/detail.aspx?ID=125652

Found these pics the other day. Maybe they offer protection, maybe not. They of course look better than the barkbusters on our scoots.

I recall reading a post on here where someone said they work pretty well. I've thought about buying a set, but never got around to it. I can see a need for them when it starts getting cooler. I've found the heated grips only work so well. The wind eventually penetrates my winter gloves and my hands start to get cold.

Barkbusters, I think they are excellent in wind, rain and bug protection at a third of the cost and they do not look bad. I have had my barkbusters for 2 1/2 years and I have no complaints and no one has ever said anything bad about them, if needed they can be removed in about a minute. The BMW deflectors are permanent
I have heard that the BMW deflectors do not work well in a post on one of the forums I am on. Everyone knows aftermarket stuff is generally better than OEM items.

My GIVI windshield came with hand protectors, but, I have never felt the need to put them on. ( I thought they might also slow me down in deep snowdrifts)
I do have heated gloves.

Gerbings heated gloves have the heating elements on the backside of your hands. Those along with the heated grips heating the palm side of one's hands I don't find a need of any wind deflectors. In fact in freezing weather I have needed to turn down the heat once in a while to prevent my hands from sweating. Add in my Gerbings heated jacket liner and I'm pretty well ready for as cold as it gets.

I have it on my bike, but cant really tell if they work or not. I purchased the bike used and they were on them when I purchased it.

I don't think the dealership even noticed they were there. I think they actually make the bike look better IMO, do they work.....sure why not.
