BMW Recall on Certain CE-04s

And now folks know how many of these scoots have been sold or in dealers’ showrooms in NA or maybe just the USA (as I’m guessing all are affected).

Not to many sold if that's the accurate number and it is not a lot. I'll stick with my BMW c650 GT. Even though that's the future of scooter's.

Evidently, in another article it's stated that one person in Germany crashed because the horn became partially loose and blocked the steering. If you want to check the horn, it's located under the lights by the radiator. Of course this goes without saying "this information is provided for educational purposes only".

Mine is affected too. Good thing I already have an appointment next week to install the alarm they made available after-the-fact.

Had my recall work done today. From what they said, it's just a better bracket that they put in.

I was at the dealer getting the break-in maintenance and they told me: "There is a recall for the horn mount, it will only take a few minutes." So I'm good to go

Hello - What is the deal I have a 23 Avantgarde and I read in some of your posts they neglected to include certain options. Are they installing them at no cost to you?

No, I had to pay for the install of the alarm - $650. I don't know why it comes standard in other parts of the world, but they feel those of us in the USA don't want to protect our investment from thieves. Seems like a really stupid decision. Obviously, installing things after-the-fact costs a lot more than if it was installed upon original manufacture.
