What stays on the handle bar end when the lock is not there? BTW - fantastic color bike!

This is what the bar end looks without the lock fitted not the best looking but hey security comes first
Thanks for the pic. I wondered whether the bigger metal ring and end cap stayed on. It doesn't look so bad and I'm sure deters opportunistic bad people as it looks quite serious.

I carry a cable lock I bought from Cycle Gear. So far the only thing I've used it for is locking my riding suit to the scooter (via the grab rails) when I just wanted to walk around without looking like something out of a comic book (and the underseat storage was full).
I have had two c650gts stolen out of my back yard. First one was by tweaked don’t know about second one. First one was trashed and only major damage on the second one was the headlight bulb retaining clip was broken when the removed one of my hid bulbs necessitating replacing the headlight assembly. People will steal anything.I had the same question in mind as well. I can see carrying a piece of chain and a lock that could fit through the front or rear wheel to prevent rolling the bike but don't see the point of locking the fork with a chain. I'm glad scooters aren't popular here in the US, sometimes I think you could set it out on the road with a "free" sign on one and never get it sold. Never heard of one being stolen around these parts.
The fork locks are easily snapped off, I've seen video of thieves standing over the seat and grab the handle bars and twist hard left and right to either break the lock or snap the receiver for the lock. Two or three practiced snaps and the forks are free. Anything that takes a thief longer to steal improvers the chances of it still being where you left it.What advantage if any would this lock have over the steering lock is it more secure.
Thanks
