Its no Biggie - but I was totally disappointed to see the lack of protection for the BMW radiator. The aluminum radiator is totally exposed to rocks and road debris because for reasons unknown, BMW only decided to only give us 1/3 of our front fender. Run over and kick up one nail, and you'll be sitting on the side of the road then spend major money and labor for a new radiator which is $653 by itself.
It's almost as if they designed it to damage the radiator. Its so puzzling why they would not extend the fender downward to protect not only the radiator but keep all that crap from loading up in the side panels as well. Making matter worse, I've only found one company to make a radiator protector which is "Way" over - priced as well as ugly with large goody BMW letters on it. Looks like I'll buy a screen door protector from Home Depot and make my own.
Moving to the rear, its not much better, BMW needs to put an inner fender here as well - since after one construction zone your once silver engine is now earth color.
Anyhow, below is a few images of my Xmax 300 - not only do they have a super fender that dips down below the radiator, they even closed in around the radiator to keep crap from getting into all the panels and engine and electronics. Another plus is; Yamaha closed the whole bottom in for better aerodynamics and also to keep all the dirt, dust and crap from traveling up into the panels and engine.
Look around BMW this is 2018!
