I noticed today that my low beam went out I know it's a H7 bulb but what wattage? I had been using
Silvania bulbs n they get to HOT. Are there other brands that like ice bule i saw that on Ebay. But do i have to
do any mods for the lights to work? Are there any cooler bulbs that don't burn out after 2 months?? This
gets to be annoying having to change either the high beam every 2 months n the low beam. See cuz i have
not used the high beam for the last 2 months only the low beam Ghost rider Greg 2016 model

Bonjour Greg

Agree with Marschris135 that your issue may be caused by a faulty voltage regulator. I read someplace that they can allow too high a voltage to be pumped into the electrical system, burning out the bulbs prematurely. My C650 has had this same problem, and I have recently switched to long-life Osram bulbs:

But, I will be checking charging voltage with the bike running soon, to see whether the regulator is not acting up.

There should be a translation on the first responders reply So IF the voltage regulator is going out like you both say. can i skip that part n just get that 10 pack for $38
bucks? Would that take care of the problem for a good while instead of having to
replace bulbs every 2 months???

So far my new bulbs have been holding up but I am not holding my breath about their life expectancy. If another one goes way to soon (they should last years, not months to 1 year) then I will look for the root cause, likely the voltage regulator. I don't have my multimeter handy (traveling for work) but will be checking running voltage soon.
Getting the 10 long life bulbs is a good idea I think, always good to have spares at hand and the price is great compared to autoparts store prices.

I wanted to see what you stated before i buy those new bulbs. How long have you
had either 1 or 2 in there right now??? In that 10 pack those are only low
beam bulbs correct???? It would be nice to have BOTH HIGH N LOW in 1 pack
instead of having to spend more $$$$.

Translation:
"The low beam and high beam are identical (H7), the difference is with the reflector.
Try to mount an LED bulb from Amazon or aliexpress, maybe the LEDs are less sensitive to the difference in voltages?? And given the price, a test will not cost you much."

Just out of curiously did you check the voltage regulator for the headlamps???

THANK YOU all for your help i will be getting the 10 pack listed above. I do hope
that this brand of light bulbs for my bike will last a lot longer than the then the
Sylvania bulbs 2 months

I installed these LED bulbs on my 2020 C650GT in September 2023. The low beam (which is on all the time) caused occasional error messages until I removed the rubber cap behind the bulb to reduce heat buildup. Performance has been perfect since then. Good high and low beam brightness and patterns. A bargain at $30 for two bulbs.

Hello,
Don't worry about the voltage regulator. It's relatively well dimensioned and reliable on the all-generation C600/650.
What's more, a fault in the charging circuit (battery too low or over-voltage linked to the regulator) causes the battery warning light on the dashboard to come on, along with an error code.
So when the regulator fails, the ECU knows it and tells you.

Probably heat related the bulbs get to hot n burn out cuz of the rubber behind the
bulb that holds the in place. Sounds logical cuz that rubber seal holds the heat
in instead of releasing it. I have the NEW bulbs n i will get the low beam back in n
take off that rubber backing seal. I will then see how long it will hold on still
being lit without no issue every 2 months.

You'll have to put your doubts about heat to one side. On a car, the conditions are the same: the headlamp units are sealed and don't dissipate the heat from the bulbs any better.

A well-known factor is the low resistance of high-end halogen bulbs... to vibration. True, they light up better, but their filaments heat up more and are less resistant.
It's an exaggeration, but imagine an iron wire in fusion. That becomes slack and ready to break if you shake it too hard. This is what happens on our motorcycles, because engine vibrations and road shocks are less well absorbed than on a car.

The rubber cover is to prevent condensation and moisture from getting into the headlight housing. By itself it should not be causing an overheating condition. There must be something additional contributing to the situation.
So what's causing the HIGH or low beam to burn out every 2 months. YES i know the
rubber is to keep it dry n all but IF that's the problem getting to HOT n burning
the bulbs out what next???

Honestly, in all the time we've been making lights, I don't think designers have come up with a headlamp that retains so much heat that a bulb burns out prematurely.
Halogen bulbs resist heat well. However, they can't withstand direct thermal shock.

Furthermore, it doesn't seem that burnt-out bulbs are a recurring fault on C650s. For example, mine (OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER 200) date from August 2023 and still work (I often drive at night).

So I think your problem lies elsewhere.

You can already check your charging circuit to rule out or confirm the regulator:
1. Measure the voltage at the battery terminals (engine off, ignition switched off, battery at rest for at least one hour). Tell us the value obtained here.
2. Measure the battery terminal voltage with the engine idling. Tell us the value obtained here.
3. Measure the battery terminal voltage with the motor running at 5000 RPM. Tell us the value obtained here.
4. Switch on as many consumers as possible (lights, heated seats and heated handles) and measure the battery terminal voltage with the engine running at 5000 RPM. Tell us the value obtained here.
