C400x Chatter.

Hi All.
My name is Bill and I've not long bought my first scooter but its already causing me problems. Its a 2018C 400x with about 8000 miles on it and recently it started making a loud noise when revving it. I found that the drive belt had stretched by 25mm so bough a new one. still the noise was there so bought a new Mallossi variator but still it exists. Does anyone know what is making this awful noise?

Have you checked if you have a loose panel somewhere vibrating itself with higher rpm?

I don't think there is anything loose. It appeared to go away when I installed the new variator but after 50 miles its back again.

That sure sounds like belt slap but does not make sense as you just changed the belt. Clutch bearing maybe? Weak springs?

I have removed the belt and variator today and started the engine with just the spindle sticking out. Unfortunately the noise is still there so it looks like something internal.
Think I was sold a lemon.

Probably a bearing then. Usually, a pretty easy fix but I don't have the manual.

Thanks for your help. I will go online to find some info about this. Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with scooters. Been riding motorbikes all my life.
