I know this is a humor thread, but after 1000 miles, I don't find the CE 04 too expensive for what it is either! As someone who is solidly against investing in combustion engines, I looked at what the "next step up" is (for me, this means compatibility with DC fast chargers & more range). The best I found is $25k US and likely nowhere near as chill to ride around on. Presenting the Energica Experia:
Zero also has the new DSR/X (also $25k), but curiously they omitted support for DC charging, so it's a no go as an upgrade for me. IMHO, it's also fugly:
Erik Buell has announced a promising new bike (Fuell Fllow) with a 10kw battery (~16% larger than the BMW CE04) and support for DC fast charging at an alleged price of $12k:
I'll eat my hat if the Fuell Fllow sells for less than $14.5k or by the end of 2023. I do however expect it to have 25% more range than the CE 04, through the combination of lower weight, better aerodynamics, and a slightly larger battery. The addition of DC fast charger compatibility would also ease my range anxiety immensely.
