We have touched on this in other threads but I thought we should have a thread that includes some insight from some of our uber experienced bikers....

Here's my contribution. What do you think?

S100 Total Cycle Cleaner

(Go down to the midsite and watch the video if you have not seen it)

I use Griot's Speed Shine, never used soap and water on any bike. Only use water to flush the radiator fins of dirt and mud from the road construction we have in this area. Understand Fenda Extenda does not make anything for the 650 yet.

I just use a good car wash cleaner to wash the bike dry it off and use some Honda spray cleaner on the wind shield and the body of the bike Makes the bugs come off easier works well for me.

Besides the S100, nothing makes the windshield shine like new like Plexus. It's expensive, but it's the most effective plastic cleaner I've ever used, and I've tried a LOT of them. Use a soft, micro-fiber or flannel cloth to wipe and buff it clean.

i have used castrol greentech in the past which is a spray on cleaner, works well but i found i needed to work it around as it seems quite consentrated to me.
other than that, i have now started to use a car shampoo with carnuba wax in it and still work it in and around then rinse. i always dry off with microfibre towels, this saves having to use any other products to wax up.
all my painted bodywork, parts and plated steel parts have been given a coating of a product called ceramishield, this is a self leveling coating of ceramic which is tough stuff and comes from a marine product.
