Hello to everyone!

Doing my first CVT service here.

I replaced the rollers for some new ones, I can see that they are asymmetrical with a blue mark pointing one side.
Can someone help me understanding which should be the direction of this inside the variator plate?

Thanks

Fede

I noticed it's a bit noisy but maybe you can give me a better feedback.

The manual should have instructions regarding way to install.
As for the noise, you have the cover off so that’s expected to be louder.
Manual doesn't specify which way they go. It's only an assembly for the whole CVT unit.
I noticed that these are asymmetrical, I left the thicker part in direction of the centrifugal force. That means the marked side outside the pairs

Yeah, my bad.
Unlike my C650, they decided not to extend the courtesy of showing this in the Rider Manual for C400, despite me assuming so.
You might want to check a similar product (round rollers) from Dr.Pulley’s and relevant descriptions, or…gush…get the Service Station Manual for C400.

NB. Centrifugal force is directed radially away from the centre of rotation, you may have meant the velocity vector or something else.

Thanks for the info, I’ll google around. Could you please let me know if yours is also noisy at speeds between 40/50 kmh? Thanks

No mine does not sound like this, but it is a different model.
What I hear in your video is shaft play (because shaft ends are not held by the cover bearings) and, during deceleration, belt play - this can happen if variator or clutch nuts were not torqued up to spec.
Have you torqued them up to specified N*m values?
And how many kms your belt old?

Thanks for the reply. Belt is just brand new. Torque is as spec in the manual 100nM, I put the cover to support the other end of the shaft, still sounds the same.
Works good, but it's just the noise the point of my concern.
Thanks

It is noisy when closed? Is the belt original or cheap Chinese knock-off from ebay?
Noise can come from anywhere, so checking all parts and tolerances acc. Service Manual is part of the CVT maintenance game.

Belt is the original, same as the rollers. Where can i get the service manual? I got a maintenance manual from a C400X GT, I assume it's the same.
Thanks
