Using a RAM® Torque™ Small Rail Base mount on the mirror stem, together with a RAM® Power Plate™ III Universal Magnetic Holder , I attached my radar detector and plugged it into the 12V outlet via an adapter that takes it from the car charger plug to the smaller outlet on the bike. The second shot is from my eye view when sitting on the bike.

Is the magnetic mount super strong holding your radar detector in place?

Definitely. I've used this on both my 2018 R1200RT and my current CE-04. Never had a problem with it staying put no matter how much breeze is coming at me.
