Gas Octane You Use

Back when gasoline was ONLY gasoline, my K1200LT used to average 52 mpg. Now, thanks to gasohol, I only get mid to high forties. I know there's nothing wrong with the bike despite the mileage because one glorious summer in 2011 while crossing through Wyoming I was able to get gas at a couple of stations that was alcohol-free. Once again, I was getting better than 50 mpg. And that was droning along at a steady 70mph through the Rocky Mountains, too!

Ethanol IS the alcohol they use to "extend" gasoline, yes. The use of methanol as "Gasoline Helper" is illegal.

We have 5 stations here in town that sell non ethanol premium unleaded. I've used it in my little Yamaha scooter and even my lawn mower for the last couple of years and I'll use it in the BMW. I didn't notice if anyone included a link to a no ethanol station locator - Find ethanol-free E0 gas stations

Reviving the thread to post a note.
I have used E10 here in my C650 Sport and the motor was not super-happy. Some drab vibes and slightly underpowered.
Best fuel in Australia for C650 is Shell 95 or Ampol 95, any 98s I have tried cause quick engine heatup esp. in summer, fan is often on at every stop and again, excessive (not “optimal”) noise.
