Got Stubborn Nubbins? Rubber Foot Pads - Easy Re-Installation Tip

All scooter owners have had to remove and re-install the rubber foot pads on their bikes for maintenance (top up the coolant reservoir, etc) and relocating the rubber nubbins back in their respective locations can be a bit wonky.

The foot pad nubs can also be damaged if forced into place.

I like to wipe a light film of Dawn dish soap on each nubbin before re-installing the foot pad. The soap gives just enough lubrication to locate the rubber, and it will eventually rinse off on its own. Maybe someone out there has a better way? Cheers

I don't know if this is better than your suggestion, but I think those rubber nubbins are a prime candidate for plumber's grease.

That is, a year or so ago I opined that I use plumber's grease to coat the outside of the metal spring clips that often hold bodywork in place, to make them slide easier (see https://www.bmw-scooters.com/thread...d-citations-to-c-400-gt-pdf-shop-manual.3505/).

I think that coating the nubbins that you're talking about would be another good use of that product:
