All scooter owners have had to remove and re-install the rubber foot pads on their bikes for maintenance (top up the coolant reservoir, etc) and relocating the rubber nubbins back in their respective locations can be a bit wonky.
The foot pad nubs can also be damaged if forced into place.
I like to wipe a light film of Dawn dish soap on each nubbin before re-installing the foot pad. The soap gives just enough lubrication to locate the rubber, and it will eventually rinse off on its own. Maybe someone out there has a better way? Cheers
