Has anyone had the bike cut off

When the scoots were first released, I recall reading a few reports of a low speed stalling issue. Personally, I've never experienced it. There was a recall for the side stand as some people had it loosen just enough to trigger the engine shut off. I don't know if the two issues are related.
 
Check your gas you may have some water at the bottom of your tank and you are going just slow enough speed and engine rpms to stall it out. Also try some Startron or other gas additive to remove any water in your tank.
 
My scoot (c650) is stalling as well. It has been shutting off as i pull up to a light or today it happened when I was inching forward in traffic on a road grrr. No problem starting and can't get it to replicate on demand. Anybody have any dealer comments or fixes?

Here's an excerpt from the WBW site:


"From my dealer's warranty invoice:

Resolution: New DME software came out last December (2013) that does affect throttle closed / decal mapping. Please flash the DME and reset adaptations. That is probably the solution, but make sure that the idle air lines are not kinked."


Make sure that BMW does a software update, though this issue doesn't make sense for newer bikes, or even older ones that have been in for routine maintenance when the software is updated as part of the maintenance.

the pinched or trapped vac pipes will make the engine run lumpy all the time, 800 ST's and S's are prone to this. it's either a scoot that hasn't had the software update ( tbh, i never found one that cut out) or just a simple re-set adaption values to re-set the TPS. normally they need this if the battery voltage has dropped below the threshold.
hope your problem gets resolved.
 
i have about 400 miles on my 650, but it has twice cut off. also it was hard starting a couple times too! will let the experts deal with it on the first warrenty service
 
My 600 Sport did stall a few times last year mostly right after fueling up. Never happened after the last service when they did a reset of the computer.
 
On a regular motorcycle, it's no big deal to pull in the clutch, hit the starter button, and just ease the clutch back out. Only YOU know that the engine cut out (unless you have loud pipes... then the whole WORLD knows you just stalled your bike).

Unfortunately, when this happens on the scooter, you have no choice but to do your best to coast out of traffic to a safe location, stop, and restart the engine. That's the biggest disadvantage I see to our automatics. That, and if your battery dies you can't just bump start them either.

...and if you push them automatics too far before fueling up, to see just how FAR you can go, you can't coast worth SHIT; you're still in gear!

(But, I did manage to roll into the gas station and stop just in front of the pump without putting a foot down...:cool:)
 
I haven't had a starting problem or cutting out since getting an update flash on my scooter last fall. One thing that is a minor annoyance is that after a fast run on the highway the throttle gets a bit touchy if you're running on level ground at 20-25mph. I doesn't cut out just has a bit of on/off effect. Usually goes back to normal after a couple minutes.
 
Had the stall today at I would guess about 10 mph, in a turn with a decent lean going on. Am guessing back wheel kind of locked as back end slid out a bit and I couldn't stop bike going down. Was able to almost stop it hitting the deck too hard but side panel and lower panel have some minor damage. Just by coincidence a friend was behind me in a car and saw the back wheel sliding. As a relative rookie not sure I could have stopped the slide. Not having stalled before and on a CVT, does back wheel usually lock up? Was not locked up when I picked up scoot after about 20 seconds.
