Has anyone removed the air intake at the front of the C650 GT?

Hi C650 GT enthusiasts! I'm trying to remove the right side fork on my 2013 C650 GT and quickly coming to the conclusion that I need to remove the air intake completely in order to access the clamp bolts on the fork.

Has anyone managed this? I've followed the procedure in the service manual but it doesn't seem to release the air intake completely.

Also, if anyone has managed to remove the right side fork without removing the air intake, I'd love to hear about that too!

Thanks in advance!

Just closing the loop here in case someone else is wondering. To get at the triple clamp bolts on the right fork you need a 200mm T45.

With one of those you only need to loosen the air box and remove the upper fairing by the battery box.

I now have both forks out.

Of course I lost the bolt at the rear of the air box into the depths of the bike and it's nowhere to be found, but that's a problem for another day. Solve one problem, cause another. PXL_20261107_011814787.webp
