I'm convinced! My new C600

Hi Greyhound,
Loving the accessories you've bought. I salute your good taste!

Question:
I fitted one of the aluminium Givi Monokey racks with a E52 top box - I've found the rear tip of the seat snags on it when opening/shutting: Does yours have that problem at all?

Thanks. As for the seat, no. I can see how yours does because I don't have much clearance and your case is larger and may come back just a little more.

Glad yours is OK Greyhound; your size case looks great, 'specially when colourcoded. Needs must I'm afraid so had to buy the E52 monster!
It's a bit irritating as I know that eventually it'll end up wearing thru the vinyl on the seat edge.
A shame as the Givi kit is 100% top notch.....ah well.
I'll have to do a bit of head scratching to think up a work-around :s

I almost went with a larger GIVI, but had this one and felt it was similar in size to the BMW case so I just added the matching parts.
 
They look superb!
I'd never have thought of putting those on a scooter.
Here in the UK I don't think I've ever seen one with them on.

They do look cool tho........perfect for London rush hour inbetween the cabs/taking out mirrors ;)

I found a solution to the back tip of the seat skidding down on the top box front:
I chocked up the front 2 locating points of the rack(which fastens to the grab rail). I put a couple of thick washers (3/8") underneath the plate and tightened everything up whilst maintaining pressure on the rear edge of the rack..
It's tilted the angle of the case back just enough for it to miss the seat edge....just.
Maybe I should apply for freelance at Givi's R&D dept ;)
 
Just sharing more here. My wife and I went on our longest ride (2 up) to date, 220 miles round trip. The bike performed flawlessly. Mostly state highways. Speeds up to 75mph and into the Sierra Nevada hills. The towns of Mariposa and Oakhurst for those who care to google it.

My pillion's report: she doesn't like speed, mostly due to wind; she hates wind. Her butt was sore, her hips hurt due to the width of the scooter and her legs were in need of a good stretch. Mind you, this is only her 4th or 5th time as a pillion. She is 5'5" in her boots fyi. Seems like 150 miles or so is her limit and that's ok. That will get us to the beach if we feel like it.

My wife makes me ride with the windshield fully up and she gets no wind except a little shoulder - which is also what I get. We also tried the Airhawk for the pillion and it helped.
 
A few updates:
Installed a wunderlich side stand enlarger, nice:




And my puig windscreen arrived, and installed. Don't know if pics do it justice. It looks really nice in person. Should have done this long ago. I'll find out how well it works and report back after I have some miles.






 
I really like those! Not only would they look great on my Quartz Blue GT, you can't deny the improvement in visibility. I'm all for that as a friend and co-worker was hit about 6 weeks ago and lost his leg below the knee. Another rider in town was killed shortly after that. ANYTHING that may make me more visible to auto drivers is a plus.
 
Some more stuff:
Puig bar end weights. They weigh about half the OEM; 130g for the BMW to 60g
