I'm glad I bought my C650GT when I did.

I too am puzzled as to who chooses the colors of bikes and cars. There are many different shades of red, blue, green or whatever. IMHO you can never go wrong with black however.
 
My dealer had a black C600. It looked super cool and almost bought it as I like the color (or lack of, to be more precise I guess). The extra storage on the GT along with what I thought were better ergos (for me anyhow) convinced me to buy the vermillion red GT. No regrets, but I admit that C600 was great looking.
 
Unlike most bike plastic out there, the color is not molded into the plastic. the colors are painted on, which means if you take you plastics off you can paint them ANY color you like. without the problems associated with plastic painting.

Unless you have Cosmic Blue, then your set with the best color.
 
MOST plastic?? As far as I know, the ONLY manufacturer that molds the color into the plastic (rather than painting it) is EBR (formerly the Buell Motorcycle Company). Their first bikes had painted plastics, but with the advent of the XB series of bikes, the color was molded into the plastic, not painted on. I'm not aware of ANY other motorcycle manufacturer that does that... they all paint theirs.
 
Well, Tonka is another manufacturer that uses colored plastics. I know this because my 3 year old grand nephew visited over the 4th and brought his "motorcycle" to go riding with Uncle Steve. He even has a helmet!

Suzuki burgman, yamaha fz1, fz6.....and most bikes I noticed have molded color of the plastic.
 
I have a friend with an FZ-1, so I'll have to verify with him. Don't think the dealer would appreciate it if I walked into their showroom with a nail and scraped up one of their Burgmans... :p
 
I too am glad I got a '13 with the proper color. It matches my K1100LT nicely. In fact I've got a line on a R1100RT in the same color if they owner and I can agree on a price. It would be great we'd have a red Mercury, red Jeep and three red bikes. Nice, no?
 
Unfortunately, the color BMW calls "Canyon Red" for my K1200LT is more like a burgundy than a red. However, it does match the color of my 2001 Subaru Outback L.L. Bean edition. My C650GT is actually the "odd one out" in my garage, but I actually PREFER that shade of red over the color of my K1200LT or my car.
 
I have a black Z3 I rarely drive it and it sits in the garage getting dusty, could not bother washing it.
My platinum bronze scooter rarely gets washed unless it is in for service like last week for the cam chain tensioner or the last time it was in for service last fall (just before winter storage) for the rear drive gasket. The scooter does not show the dust off dirt.
