Is there a way to validate my timing isn't 180 off

Hi all,

I recently replaced the head gasket on my 2016 GT, during the process I may have gotten the timing 180 out of sync. I started it while still on the table and it seemed to idle fine, high idle settled into low idle after a few seconds. I buttoned everything back up and it ran like crap, low power. I took it down to the cam shafts again and flipped the timing 180 and it wouldn't start, flipped back and still won't start... talk about going from bad to worse. Anyone have any hands on experience in this area? No dealers in my future, but it may become a parts bike if I can't figure it out. TIA

No experience with this scenario, but have you checked whether it is a fuel or ignition issue? Pull a plug and see if it's wet or dry. If dry, it's a fuel issue, if wet, ignition (or timing, indeed). Since you put it back to where it ran ok before, it should be something relatively simple, I think. You can also check for compression, just to rule that out. And try starter fluid to see if it will run on that.

Apologies, it would be 360 degrees out of sync, not sure why I said 180 lol

It sure seems like something simple! Thanks for the reply.
I don't have an adapter for my compression tester that fits, but I do have spark on both coils and plugs. And now that you mention it, one plug was dry. I'll double check that one, and try starting fluid directly into the cylinders while I have them out. Thanks again.
