Hey Scott,

Yup, I am in TOTAL agreement. I know exactly what you mean. These Beemers can take you anywhere in more comfort than a lot of the other choices; and I am not just talking about other types of UMVs. Depending on preference and personal ergos, there are several good choices.

I own a few bikes, but I admit that if I was allowed to own only one....my C650GT would win hands down. I am also looking forward to the 2016 model and plan to buy that bad boy.

Welcome aboard, by the way. FWIW, this is probably my favorite forum. Good guys and a HUGE knowledge base. Like other great forums, even those that no longer own a BMW UMV stick around and contribute.

thanks for the reply! is there any resident experts on the bmw 650gt on here that you know of? on the burgy and swing forums, there was always a go-to guy who knew everything about the scooters..i have soo many questions..i like to do things myself, but doesnt sound like bmw wants you to do your own work! is there any rumors of a different 2016 model that you know of?

You'll find many super knowledgable people on this site. Full disclosure....I am not one of them for sure and am not even really qualified to respond to anything mechanical. In fact, other than wise cracking in the middle of some of the gear head discussions, I just stay out of the way.

I will say there is not one go-to guy, and I wouldn't limit your info sources to just the far more respectable C650GT owners. As much as I hate to admit it, many with super brain power and mucho experience are those C600 desperadoes along with a very devilish Tmax owner. Plus new folks show up often that bring significant mechanical background to the table.

This is a rear wheel drive vehicle, right?
