Quick update on my 2014 C650GT potential timing chain tensioner issues (likely).
So I contacted my local BMW motorrad service centre to replace my mechanical timing chain tensioner. They explained that they no longer sell the part as they only offer the conversion kit. The conversion kit and labour would cost around 2KAUD (rather than the $38 for the part plus labour).
I explained that my bike should be eligible for a recall given that its production date is within the range provided (1-1-2013 / 1-7-2014). They explained that they had created a VIN list for the recalls and my bike is not on that list for whatever reason.
BMW Australia is involved and hopefully I will get a conclusive answer soon. Worst case scenario I'll buy the Kymco mechanical tensioner and get that done.
