Christian, ya should have been there!

What we saw was almost NO traffic, NO maxi scooters of any sort, a couple of Harleys that strictly cruised in town, a pack of four Goldwings, one Can-Am , and the REST were Adventure Tourers, mostly BMWs.

Especially on Highway 4; you could park the bike in the ROAD and walk away. Every 15 minutes or so a bike or two might cruise on by...that was it.

Big surprise? Going on the 6,000 foot downhill grade from Tioga Pass down to Mono Lake, from almost 10,000 feet, where I lost the brakes on my motorhome 10 years ago. Didn't realize that you could HAUL ASS down it at a steady 75-80 mph. Some guy in a BMW (car) tried to stay ahead of us. We finally decided to give him a break and blew by him on a sweeper at 80+ mph.

beautiful. We have no where to ride out here in the midwest like that. I did a week in Carmel Valley, CA over Christmas and really see why folks live in CA. It was gorgeous. I rented a BMW z4 and we did highway 1 from SF to Carmel to the resort and took a few trips to Big Sur and other areas. The whole time I am thinking how I'd love to be on my bike. I saw quite a few sport bikes/tourers/cruisers.

Beautiful, I still would like to take the missus through those roads. But with ol' blue in the shop I'm grounded. But I hear rumor I might get her back on Tuesday.

Your Yellow bike looks nice. I wish I seen your post prior to painting my GT red because I had a qt of bright yellow paint and it was a toss up between red or yellow. Oh well, it's bright red now and that's the way it will stay.

OBTW, I am currently in the process of having the stock Havana metallic front fender and side panels done in black carbon fiber Hydro Graphics (I saw another finished piece and it looked exactly like carbon fiber) so I will post pics when it is done.

As for riding with a BMW, maybe we can get together sometime this summer. El Cajon isn't too far from San Marcos.

I was just in El Cajon today, checking out an event venue at 2nd St. and Broadway, just East of the Walgreens!

I was in upstate NY about 15 years ago on a family vacation. I found a road that was one turn after another for miles and wished I was on my bike. I dreamed about that road for all those years, until I went back last year to give it a ride. Oh well, they had widened the road and straightened almost every curve!! Damn, I waited to long.
