"WHAT COULD HAPPEN: Since the rim is not marked with the rim size and the DOT designation, a tire of the incorrect size may be installed on this rim, affecting the handling of the scoter and increasing the risk of a crash."

Hmmmm. Seems like a high risk of installing the wrong sized tire.

Bear in mind the last recall on the 2017 R1200GS involved the saddlebags blocking the rear-side reflectors and you get an idea of how ludicrous these recalls seem to be, lately.

Since I order tires based on specs in the owners manual and have them installed by the dealer I was not aware that my 2013 GT rims were marked. Learn something new every day...

Yeah, next time I do my tires I'm going to have to look myself.

It'd be more effective it you'd look at the rims instead.
