Removing/replacing CE 04 heated comfort seat?

Since the pelvic support (aka "hump") on my seat doesn't seem to agree with my height, I think I'll have it upholstered and will likely remove the hump entirely in the process.
Can anyone who has the seat without the hump tell me if you think that's something you miss? I wouldn't say it provides much support in any case, and when you open the throttle you have to hang on to the handlebars regardless...that's even the case on my GS, which has a seat with really good support.

Just thinking out loud...

I purchased the long one, #5, as I was getting pains on my knee on longer rides.
It provides about 2.5 inches of extra leg room which was more than enough to alleviate the pain and allow me to stretch out and ride in comfort without sitting on the hump.
Swapping out was simple and was done in less than 10 minutes.
I kept the shorter seat as a spare and was planning to get it re-covered without the hump if the pain continued.

So #2 & 3 are not? They look the same just different color.
 
I too am right at 6' with long arms, so I'm looking into something other than my factory comfort seat. The extended model "2" comfort seat is way more $ than I expected. I don't really need the heated seat so it looks like the non-comfort pro seat or the standard flat seat might be less expensive options.

I'd say taking your seat to an upholsterer would be no more expensive than a new standard seat.

A year or two ago, I sat on a CE-04, in my local dealership's showroom (while waiting for some service or inquiring about a part, or something). Sorry, but I don't remember what particular variant of the seat was on the new bike, e.g., hump or no hump, etc., but I do recall that I found the seat indistinguishable from, say, a 3/4" piece of plywood (covered with some fabric).

Yes.
The grey seats are the 'comfort seats'. They have about 2cm thicker padding and heating.
The orange seats do not.
If your bike comes new from the factory with a standard seat (the orange ones), you can retro-fit any of the comfort seats (the grey ones) but the heating will not work.
The heating only works with bikes specced with that option from the factory.

Not really.
I currently have a mesh cover on it to get a bit more airflow and at least partially block UV, I'll evaluate how comfortable that is long-term.
Other than that it's my local auto upholsterer. Most of these guys have at least done motorcycle seats before.

For true motorcycle upholsterers there are companies like Corbin, but they don't have a product for the CE04 yet, although that would probably be the preferred way to go.

Have you at least looked into local upholsterers?
I can't imagine a used seat sells very well...just no market for it.
 
I have the heated comfort seat but prefer the look of the orange/grey one. I was tempted to order it but changed my mind. Same with the orange windshield and rear wheel sticker.

Keep in mind that not only is the orange/grey seat non-heated, it also has less padding than the 2 comfort seat models..
