There was a thread here not that long ago about RAM mounts that are affixed to the top of your brake fluid reservoir. I got such a mount and it's perfect to fit my smartphone in that I use for navigation.

Ceesie76, this is an older thread, but relevant to me today. I've looked at the master cylinder top mount as an option and was planning on making one up. I'm worried that the fluid bladder might be crushed by the amount of tightness required for a RAM mount on the two screws.
Can you share your experience with me on what you have, where you got it, or if you made it up? I was also thinking of tapping four additional holes in the top cap for some 10-32 screws to mount my RAM ball mount to, but i pulled off a cap yesterday and they are molded undercut and very thin in the area that I would need to drill and tap.
Are you familiar with the BMW Navigation Preparation mounting kit for BMW motorcycles? Not sure if one can be retro fitted to a C650 GT or not. Also, any one mount Bluetooth amp to stream from a phone and speaker mounts etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a quad lock mounted on the brake cylinder for 3 years now with no problems and that's bouncing around the Scottish Highlands. There is a convenient switched feed under the centre handle bar boss. I don't bother with a separate sat nav just use Waze on the phone with Bluetooth link to my helmet.

I started out with making a single RAM mount for the top of the rear brake master cylinder and mounting my iPhone. This worked out okay, but then I saw videos of the Compuride W702 display Bluetooth model. This has Apple Car Play and Android Auto along with some of the other apps that came loaded. It will stream to any audio Bluetooth device, like helmet speakers or bike mounted Bluetooth speakers. Even connected to my Shop Light Bluetooth over my lathe...
I made up two aluminium 1/8" covers with a 5/8" square aluminium bar stock going between the two master cylinder top mounts. It has a RAM 1" ball in the middle and is VERY solid all bolted up. A person with normal fab skills can make one of these up quite easily. Or you can buy the master cylinder top cap that was mentioned above and just mount off center a bit.
Now all I have to do is to come up with some Bluetooth speakers that will fit and look good. I like the JBL Cruise pod setup, but from what I've heard online, they're not very load with only 20w available. Some of the others, Boss, Pyle etc, are louder, but their speakers look like crap for my purpose. I may just get the JBL Cruise through Amazon and if not loud enough, send them back for free.
Anyone mount in the body work any type of speakers? Not a lot of extra space anywhere that I can find.

I'm really liking the forum since I've only had my C650 GT less than a month with only around 40 miles on it so far. Living in northern mid-MI does hamper your riding style when it's cold or 40 mph winds...

2) I did something similar on my '12 Victory Cross Country Tour ('12 - '17) and on my '08 Burgman 650 ('16 - '22).
On both of these, I mounted a 15mm crossbar, in order to mount various devices.
In the world of photography, bars with a 15mm OD (a little more than half an inch) are very common, as extensions for tripod supports, various camera mounts, and so forth.
And so, not surprisingly, there are a lot of clamps -- many with attached balls that are smaller than the typical "B"-size (1", 25mm) -- that are designed to mount on the 15mm bars. If you go to Amazon and, for instance, search for 15mm photography clamps you'll see a lot of these bar-add-on devices.
On my former Victory, I used some hardware-store brackets attached to the windshield mounts to support a bar:
On my Burgman, I used some reservoir covers from an outfit called MCL (for Motorcycle Larry, which became extinct when the founder/proprietor died some years back). These were a great idea, much better than the RAM and similar products because they were replacement reservoir covers -- not add-ons on top of the covers -- that had extended overhang areas that were tapped for one or two RAM balls.
Connecting those two MCL covers, I added a RAM product that held a supplied bar. I drilled out the RAM end clamps, to increase their ID from 12.5mm to 15mm, and then used an off-the-shelf 15mm photography bar.
All of that verbiage may not be clear, so here's what that wound up looking like:
So yep, some sort of crossbar is often a handy thing to add.
(On my C 400 GT, though, I dispensed with crossbars for now. I recently added a behind-the-windscreen shelf, and then drilled a hole in that, to attach a standard RAM ball:

When I bought mine, it already had the RAM quad phone holder mount on the right side. Worked pretty well on the 2000+ mile ride home after purchase (Portland. OR - Dallas area, Texas) Ended up replacing it so I could mount a Zumo from Garmin in the middle. Easier to read and no issue with the dang Apple "only your live finger can touch this" interface!

I've got the quadlock brake reservoir mount in combination with a vibration dampener and it works a treat!

I had to "custom" design my pieces to "fit" my master cylinder locations and angles. It would be very hard to make a universal dual side mount brackets.
Good luck with your C400GT NAV mounting.
