Seat upholstry UV/sun damage BMW CE04

I have a one year old CE04 and have noticed after some warm sunny days that the grey part of the seat became kind of sticky - similar to uv damage on inflatable boats. When I study the fabric I can see micro cracks. I have reported this to the dealer and are waiting for feedback from BMW.

When I purchased my bike the dealer had two on the floor they got from a dealer up North. On one of them the sales guy was waiting on a replacement seat so guessing this maybe an issue with the material bmw used on the scooter seat. Sadly, bet bmw would not allow one to ‘upgrade’ to a higher end seat…if such would even be of benefit thus just paying the difference in cost from a base to an upgrade seat.

I thought I did a screen capture of the ones bmw sells but cannot locate it right now.
 
My dealer here in Norway ordered a new seat from BMW just from seeing the photos - so I guess this is know to BMW. So if any of you guys on this forum experience the same then just claim guarante and ask for new seat cover.
 
Hello I was in Paris last week here a solution that I saw.
Not the most design wise maybe a scarf from Hermes would be more fashionable anyhow what I read on forum in France BMW was replacing the seat no charge they know the problem but they just replace the seat, I don't know if the orange ones have the same problem.

Can anyone provide more information on the warranty replacement of their seat. I have just been denied the warranty replacement on the Netherlands.

So now I need to fight their decision and more information on specific cases where BMW replaced it successfully would help me a lot. Maybe a screenshot of the garage repair note, with picture would be ideal for me.

Can anyone help?

Hello I know that in France a lot of owners had the same problem and that BMW know's about it.
They actually got free replacement because they CE04 were under warranty as well. I don't have a facebook account but if you do go to this page and read through it it maybe two years old post but I remember read some while the page was available to anyone.
Anyway good luck and fight for your rights!

Reviving this thread as it looks like I'll have to park my CE04 in the (Mississippi) sun during the day, so I'll likely run into this as well.
Has anyone tried using a seat cover to prevent this? This one doesn't look too bad and may even provide some more comfort and cooling...
