Hello all,
I've been able to put around 400 miles on my new to me 2020 C650 GT. It showed 7,020 miles on the ticker when I got it home. I've ridden is some solo, but mostly 2-up. It runs great and does everything I would expect it to do... BUT, upon taking off from a stop, I hear what sounds like a slight belt squeak/slipping. I seem to have good power throughout take off to cruising speed.
I have ordered a new belt, still waiting, and have the tools and new Dr. Pulley 36gr roller/sliders to install. Initially, no new belt during the upgrade, but after hearing the squeaking noise, I've decided at 7,500 miles to just go ahead while I'm in there to replace the belt. This whole thing started with trying to get just a bit more exhaust volume. I'm going to de-cat the catalytic converter. This THEN initiated the thought of slightly lighter rollers. I have a new right side running board to replace as the original has some road rash on it. So, as it is now, remove the old right side running board, replace the rollers with the Dr. Pulley sliders, de-cat the converter and replace the belt.
Has anyone else ever experienced the belt type squeaking upon take off from a stop?
I've been communicating with Delray several times; a plethora of valuable information!!! Also read tons of threads and think I've learned a lot so far. My wife has finally found a way to get on the scoot. Her legs are not what they used to be strength wise, but has developed a routine and it seems to work. The only thing that I'm "thinking" of adding, is a Corbin seat. I see from an earlier post, that someone posting here has the Corbin seat. I have the Corbin seat on my '09 Harley CVO Road Glide, and love it. It's firm, but fits well and you can also SLIDE around on it. The Beemer seat it way too sticky for my taste. It also limits my wife easier access to the passenger's area. She slides off the seat to the left while on the side stand, but the seat grabbing her clothes makes it a bit difficult; of like a self-induced wedgy...
Any insight, experience, or thoughts on my concerns above, would be greatly appreciated.
