Slipstream deflector

If nothing else, they look like they'd protect the fairing in a tip-over. I added the wind deflectors to my TMAX for the same reason (didn't really notice much difference with the airflow with those things installed either).

I had them installed prior to delivery. Figured they would help in a tip over. or if anyone were to hit the bike for any reason. You have to stick your hand out about 6 inches beyond the deflector to get into the slip stream of the air going past the bike. Really like it when it's cold.
 
Yes I do have a GT. The deflectors do more than the flaps under the windshield. When the shield is down they do a little but when up I can't tell I have them set out or in.
 
i fitted a pair of these to a customers GT and the left hand one would'nt stick down properly. it looked like the hard plastic bone to it was out of shape, anyone else had the same problem??
 
Just installed a set on my GT. Both sides fit perfectly. Letting the adhesive set up overnight before taking it to work tomorrow. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
 
I had them installed prior to delivery. I thought they are just supposed to keep a little more wind off your hand which is why I got them - to ride in cold weather.

I also wondered about the moveable wings and what they are about. Are they supposed to divert air up or away?
 
Rode "Snoopy" into work today... that's about 17 miles one way on the highway. These things DEFINITELY make a difference deflecting the wind away from your hands. I like them; they look like they "belong" on the scooter, as opposed to those hand guards people have been installing on theirs. To me, those things look out of place on anything but an off-road bike (but I'll grant you they ARE cheaper).
 
Ok...My Christmas list has now been expanded. And, I agree about trail/dual purpose hand guards on maxi-scooters. They probably do the job and are less expensive, but the "wings" look like they were made for C650GT (uh, like they were).
 
Sounds like some of you have installed them. Care to share your experiences or share your " don't do this " list? Maybe some instructions? I know I've looked for BMW instructions for their accessories for the 650gt and they are hard to find. They really want you to get them installed with the dealer
 
These things come with very clear instructions. No tools required, just that incredibly strong, two-sided tape to adhere them to the plastic. The downside? You better position it correctly the FIRST time, or else...
