Im I'm approaching a red light, and I'm almost stopped and it goes green, I cant just go to WOT and go.

Sometimes there's a horrible squealing noise, and no rpm rise in the engine. If I back off the gas, pause a second, and give it gas slowly..it's fine.

I would like a non BMW shop that be a LOT more open with me on things to peek at it. It's due for it's 6k inspection as well. It got a new belt 1000 miles ago when the OE belt came apart and seized everything up...BMW warranty replaced it.

Sounds like a belt slipping,. When I got my current Silverwing it made a pretty loud squeal starting out. I've seen it before on a previous SW I had. Riding it like I just stole it cleared up the polish on the belt and the noise stopped. Slow starts and acceleration can leave rubber on the face of the driven pulley which causes the noise. I hit the throttle hard on each start and don't hear the noise any more. The lady I bought it from was pretty hesitant on the throttle which keeps the pulleys slipping longer causing more heating of the belt. Try a few fast take offs and see if the noise doesn't go away.

Ya I dont know..it feels like something is binding up when it happens...not a slip/squeal.

I dont do slow starts..so..the throttle gets plenty of hard use. Except when it does this.

Ill try to record it next week.
