Spent an hour digging out the driveway

We got a record dump of that white stuff on us these past two days. I spent an hour just clearing out my short but wide driveway. I though all that was done once I got to Southern Oregon. No scooter riding this week, hard enough to get around in the AWD Equinox with all the damp ice on the road. They don't have the equipment for this much snow here. What happened to Algore? This global warming is becoming a major chore.
 
Well what happens is that due to the global warming the extremes tend to get worse. Hence your problems...

Today I was 67 km from home, after a night shift, and the roads became all icy during the night. More than 250 accidents happened this morning in our small country.
I had to wait for 5 hours before I could ride the scooter home, no fun...

I measured 16" on the roof of our storage shed, less on the roads, maybe 10-12" but a lot of it was packed down into ice. Lots of slipping and sliding going on. Schools were closed all last week. Much better now, we've had some rain to get rid of this stuff and are expecting a heavy rainfall starting tonight and lasting for a few days. Flood warnings out now too. Mostly small area flooding.
 
Still lousy weather for scootering. Not too good for autos either. At least most of the snow is gone but the rain is just starting. We have standing water in our backyard, first time I've seen that since we moved here nine years ago. This el Nino is really taking a whack at us.
 
Skutorr, how are you guys up in the hills as far as rain goes? It just keeps coming!

In the Netherlands, especially the coastal area, in doesn't snow often. What we do get is rain, and when it freezes, this gets icy.
Last Saturday was one of those day's. It was really bad, there were 550 accidents (normal for a Saturday is apparently about 60)
I had to ride home after working the night shift at the hospital, it's about 65 km. I had to wait till 2 pm before the ice was gone. No fun after a night shift...
Of course I could have found an other means of transportation but that would have given me trouble the next day too, so I just had an extended breakfast :)

I saw that news article too. Here in Central CA it's still concidered stage 3 "severe " but hopefully by the spring it won't be.
