I enabled the sport display(s) on the TFT on my '24 C400GT using a GS911. What's cool is that the redline changes relative to the engine temperature based on user settings. This allows both tach displays to also serve as a temperature gauge. I have redline set to be at 9400 RPM after engine reaches 165 F. For me, much better looking than the bland stock display.

This is something that is already present in the stock firmware, that just needs to be unlocked, activated, that sort of thing? That is, unlike, say, the "M Power" screens that I've seen on a few videos from Asia, which I'm pretty sure require custom programming, this is a "corporate" feature, so to speak?

I ask, because: 1) I like the looks and information*, and; 2) I don't want to void the warranty**.

If all that is the case, the next time I'm at the shop, I'll ask what, if anything, they'll charge to enable those screens for me.

* I have stated, in BMW surveys, on the forum here, etc., that it looks to me as if whoever programmed the TFT -- at least on my former '22 and my current '23 C 400 GT -- that they were almost thinking in black and while. Every other bike I've seen with a TFT, including many of BMW's own offerings, has better use of color, more pizazz, and so forth.

(On top of that, having only that one screen, the "Urban," that shows RPM is very disappointing. They dispensed with the graphic pic of the scoot on the main screen, and could've added RPM there, if you ask me.)

** MAX BMW, the four-location dealership that I bought my bike from, and where I have all my service, has this boilerplate printed on all its receipts. It says that if the customer screws with a Beemer's software, they'll catch it, and it will void the warranty. I don't want this to happen, especially after I've already had one bike replaced, and because I'm planning on buying the extended warranty next year.

(By the way, on that '22 C 400 GT, the one that BMW replaced for me, I had an extended warranty. I bought it a few months after I bought the bike, because I was, and still am, enamored with the bike, and because I had some spare cash that I didn't want to risk frittering away. So I bought the warranty, a few YEARS before it would take effect (and may have avoided any warranty price increases). But when the '23-for-'22 swap was made, I was not refunded the FULL price of the warranty. It was "pro-rated" in some way, such that I got most, but not all, of it back.

This still sticks in my craw, and still does not make any sense to me. I mean, that warranty STARTS as the 3-yr./36K-mile warranty runs out ... which it hadn't, at the time. So in what sense could it be pro-rated. Bottom line: I told the Finance Mgr. there that I was pissed, and that I would never buy another warranty EARLY, no one would have free use of money, I wouldn't have to worry about any pro-rating if the second scooter self-destructed, I didn't care if warranty prices may increase along with inflation, etc.

So when my three years are almost up, I plan on getting the max-length warranty, again, from the dealer, but not before that.)

Bill,

Yes, these screens are already in the firmware, at least on the 2024. I assume the firmware is the same for all the newer 6.5" TFT equipped scooters. The GS911 just allows access to enabling them via its coding function. That is also how I "turned on" the tire pressure displays. I didn't mention before but I coded the M performance splash screen to appear during boot up. While I know these changes don't add anything to performance, the Sport screens do improve the rider experience, at least for me.

Thanks for the additional info.
