Tires and weight

BMW does not follow there own guidelines
As you will see in the first picture is the BMW specs for weights on tire rims

In the second picture this is my back tire a total of 100 all on one side
As for my front tire I have 40 on each side (the max)

Is it the rim or the rubber that is out of balance or both

We noticed that recently when we replaced my front tire. I made a note of it here that if you have a highline model (I think most of us do) with the tire pressure monitor, you need to align the lightest spot of the tire (usually marked with two red dots on the sidewall) with the sensor and NOT the valve stem (which is what you'd normally do). Otherwise, you find yourself using an excessive amount of weights to get the wheel to balance properly.

The bike came (I don't know if it was from the dealer or the factory) with the red dots lined up with the valve stem and not the TPM sensor. Since those dots are usually only on one side of the tire, I'm not sure what the story is with the photo you attached. I don't see the dots on the sidewall, but that doesn't mean they aren't on the other side of the tire either. Can you confirm?

As I marked off in chalk on the opposite side. The front tire is the same.
Opposite the valve in line with tire pressure sensors

the balance mark will be opposite the valve, this is where the tyre pressure monitor is so you would balance up to that.
