Hey everyone!
I’m the new guy—just recently got a 2018 GT 650.
Just so we’re clear, I’m not trying to race: I just want smooth, fluid power delivery with no jerking.
Since I’m pretty clueless when it comes to mechanics, I’d like to figure out:
Components: Which parts are worth replacing?
Spare parts: Any brands or specific parts you’d recommend?
Tips: Any tricks or things to watch out for when installing or doing maintenance?
Workshops/Suppliers: Who can I go to for buying the parts and/or getting the mechanical work done?
Thanks in advance

Welcome! Since it sounds like you won't be doing your own maintenance and repairs, I recommend you find a good independent shop nearby that can do the work and advise you as to what needs doing from time to time. You'll want to make sure they follow the BMW owner's and shop manual requirements as to what needs to be done/checked/replaced from time to time. They will know where to get quality parts.
Do let us know if you plan to (learn how to) do all the work yourself. In that case, start by getting the workshop manual on DVD.
There are plenty of online parts suppliers including in Italy, where scooter culture is big.
