Hello,

Does anyone happen to know a link where to get a brand new or used part for this one?

2016 C650GT Model. Called local BMW in Brisbane, Australia and they said it’ll be around 8-12 months to arrived.

2 clips snapped, can’t find any replacement for those so I’m just trying to replace the whole thing

TIA!

As @Ceesie76 pointed out, I would try eBay. I mean, the sellers there actually have the part (or it would be fraud, and you'd be backed by eBay's various guarantees).

I looked up your part on the parts fiche at MAX BMW (a fairly larger multi-store dealership in northeastern USA): https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=57522&rnd=10232024

If I understand your photo correctly, your part appears to be 46637725054:

Doing a search on eBay for BMW part 46637725054 results in a few hits, such as this one (which says it is a new, not used, part): https://www.ebay.com/itm/405162228589

Of course, you'll have to be mindful of the shipping cost to Down Under, which I leave to your research. And you have to transfer the roundel from your current part.

Good luck in your quest.

It would be pricey and have to be painted but you can check with your BMW dealer. Some plastic is available but with changing colors every model year most of what’s available is unpainted white.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check on this. Will surely try getting from eBay.

Hi from California!
I had the same problem with tabs breaking on my 2015 C650GT body panelling. I'm somewhat handy and was able to remake the tabs using

Plastex Plastic Repair Kits - Easily Glue, Repair or Remake Broken Plastic, Fiberglass, Wood & More! (Small Black Travel Size Kit)

which i bought from Amazon for around $25US. It's a game changer. From total desperado to DIY. Works on ABS, the body panel base material. The kit is made up of powdered plastic material and a hardener. Also included is molding material. They have good YT video on how to fix anything plastic by reforming parts. This is the way.
If they are missing, BMW dealer parts department have the clip nuts. They're pretty generic and cheap!
Good luck!

Chris

I tried a product like that once, don’t remember the name. It looked great while was building up the support for the broken tab but after curing it completely came off when I tried to press the little metal clip back on the tab.

Earlier this year, I had occasion to reattach a broken tab on my C 400 GT (despite having removed and installed its bodywork several times, and many times on two Burgman 650 scooters). I considered myself almost an expert on tupperware, but stuff happens, I guess.

In any event, I successfully used Loctite 406:

I gobbed it on, in the junction of the broken tab and the main piece, and then gobbed some more on, all around the outside of that junction. And then I waited three days -- I read the full drying time somewhere, I think on Loctite's site -- before putting the metal spring clip back on, and then putting the pieces back together.

Oh, and I slathered the outside of that metal clip with plumber's grease, to reduce friction while inserting, as I stated in this bodywork primer that I wrote a few months ago: https://www.bmw-scooters.com/thread...d-citations-to-c-400-gt-pdf-shop-manual.3505/

So, this product seemed to work fine for me. Everything seemed nice and solid, snapped into place, etc. I guess the real proof of concept will occur the next time I have to remove that piece, but so far so good.

Plastex Plastic Repair Kits is a plastic molding kit which can make a replacement tab rather than cementing back into place an existing tab.
The process allows for repairs but also replacement. My experience after experimented with several types of plastic adhesive... Plastex for the win.
