Has anyone tried one of these add on windscreen spoilers to the top of the stock windscreen? I just bought a 2013 650GT and the stock windscreen is a couple inches short at the highest spot.
 
I have a 2013 as well, I tried the "extension" and wasn't happy with the results (didn't work well and mounting hardware was in my line of sight). I tried the Ermax, it was tall enough but more narrow so a good summer choice as it allows more air on my upper body from the sides, I also contacted 7Jurock and they used my original screen as a pattern and made the screen I use now. It has a "spoiler" like "flip" at the top of the screen that moves the air up and over my helmet and has the top of the screen barely below my eyes. 7Jurock established a pattern from my original screen and can press one out without having to ship them your screen. I'm 5' 9" and the screen in it's lowest position allows the air stream to hit near the middle of my helmet (perfect for Georgia heat) and just slightly off the bottom directs the air over my helmet. If you still want to try the top of screen spoiler you can have mine for shipping costs. It isn't scratched up and I have all the original hardware.

Thank you for the input and offering your deflector to me. That’s really nice! I guess I should try it. I’m over 6ft so It may be a different situation with the field of view. I’ll send you a private message. I’ve only had the bike a few weeks, but what a machine. My first maxi scooter.
 
I purchased one of the Calsci windshields after my second stock one had the middle lamination look like shattered glass. It’s taller than stock and while there is some wind buffeting it does alright. I’m 6’ even.
 
Thank you for your input on the Calsci windscreen. I’m going to try the extension that Pappy sent me and see where it goes from there. I just bought the 650gt and it’s like new with 3k miles. I would like to avoid too many modifications and keep the bike mostly stock for now. I did see an interesting post on raising the stock windscreen a few inches with a set of new holes. That could be doable as well.
 
Buffeting and wind noise on my helmet was a problem on my Burgman 650, a Laminar Lip helped a little bit but not much. Now on my 650GT the buffeting was still a problem, so I added a cheap ($30) extension. It didn't even have a brand. A five-minute job to attach it, with its feeble looking clamps, to the top edge of the windscreen. It works brilliantly! Except for long rides I no longer bother with earplugs. The extension itself is only about a foot wide and 4" high, and sits near the top of the stock windscreen, about 2" out from it - that is adjustable. It interferes slightly with my line of sight, but really no more than the laminar lip did on my previous bike, and this was a fraction of the cost. I still can hardly believe how effective this thing is.

I tried the extension from Pappy and it does work. I’m not sure if this will be the final solution, but it does cut down buffeting at my sunglasses. One of these taller aftermarket windscreens will probably be in my future. Right now I’m just riding and smiling.
 
I recommend installing the Laminar Lip, I had that gizmo on most of my bikes: it helps alleviate shoulders and neck discomfort.
I addition to loud horn this is the first modification I do to a newly acquired bike.

I did end up ordering the laminar lip for the 650gt. Any tips regarding the install would be appreciated. It looks pretty straight forward, but it always pays to ask someone who has experience. Thanks in advance

I sent the laminar lip back. It just wasn’t the right solution for me. I’m back to the straight up stock windscreen. We’ll see what the future holds, but I appreciate the input.
 
TEMU windshield foil for $16 (shipped) is a good enough solution for this 6'2" owner. The windshields are all $200+ and as fugly as the clip on so I kept my money in my wallet.
 
I got this one for $22:

I'm 6'3" and I find this work well set at the highest setting (it's adjustable with thumb lever) and flipped up a little so that it's beyond parallel to windscreen. This allows be to only raise the windscreen a couple inches and get a quiet air bubble while keeping my eyes a few inches above for clear sight. Only downside, when screen is all the way down I no longer have the clean air flow. I'll need to take it off for those warm days, or can reach up swivel the extension down toward me so that air is clean.
