Windscreens.. do you prefer to look over or through.

Have a Wunderlich Marathon (no vent) screen on the 24 GT. Better than stock but not perfect. Just purchased a MRA x-creen tour extention but I am now looking through the MRA. I was hoping it would of gone down a bit further. (Clips on top and I am reluctant to drill the screen even though I have the fittings) Opinions please regarding looking through or over.

I would prefer to look over the windscreen but have a fear of eating the top of it in the event of an impact or other forced stop. If I have it in a lower position my attention is constantly on the top of the windscreen to the detriment of paying attention to the rest of the road and riding conditions. So I leave it in the tallest position .
