C650gt variator removal tool??

How can I find the correct tool list to remove the variator, especially the one that locks the two pullies together so you can remove the lock nuts.
Thanks for your help!
 
Here are notes I assembled before I tackled the belt change (ending up selling the bike before I changed the belt) ....

VARIATOR HOLDING TOOL: BMW # 83 30 2 414 987

BMW CVT BELT: BMW Part # 24827729767, $388.64
(Mitsuboshi is same belt, MUCH cheaper, see below)

MITSUBOSHI 2777001 (in Europe, 76 Euros)
Belt height: 16.9mm, Belt angle 28°, Belt length 894mm, Belt width 32.4mm.

LUBRICANT FOR CVT SLEEVE: BMW 83 19 2 160 349 ($11.99, listed as “grease for roller bearings”)

TORQUE FOR VARIATORS: 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.)

SOCKET 33 mm for output shaft (front)

SOCKET 17 mm for drive shaft (rear)

Excellent work, thank you! This will definitely give me more confidence to tackle the job. The belt only has 4800 miles. Hopefully it doesn’t need changing.
I am noticing some noise that may be the timing chain tensioner, I know this won’t help that but it is something I can do to help eliminate possible noice causing options.

One note I need to add to my document is to not forget this step:

It's listed further own in the maintenance manual but easy to overlook. I realized this just recently when I destroyed the sleeve and inside of the variator from lack of lubrication.
 
Thank you for the addition. I received Multivar today in the mail but waiting on a few other parts before I get started.
is there a recommendation of how much to put in there? I know there is usually a line between to much and not enough but either one of those can be bad.
Also, should I plan to go ahead and switch out the rollers that came from Malossi with the Multivar and put in Dr Pulley sliders? Thanks for the advice!

Good question; I'd probably just put a decent coating in the sleeve (as pictured) and remove any that comes out the holes. Too much is definitely bad since it'll get on the belt and muck up everything. And yes, I'd swap from rollers to sliders; that last MUCH longer and low-risk.
 
Thanks and for responding! Maybe last question. The kit came with roller sizes 24 and 22. I will probably use the 24( touring), should I order that same size? The Dr. pulley website recommends 28 g for the stock variator which is currently in there. How will I know which size and weight To order for the Mallossi variator if I can’t use do you guide? I know the weight but not sure of the size. Thanks for any advice you have!

I'm using the 30x20 sliders I installed in 2017 and have been happy with them. My variator uses the "AH" sliding pieces but some use the "AE." I'd check BPNW's page for specifics if you go that route.
