GIVI #5132 only makes this Windshield for the C400GT. It is way too tall for me. I am 5'10" and the screen is 3" too tall. Purchased scooter used with this W/S. Called around to see if I could get someone to cut and shorten it. No such luck. After looking at a you tube I decided to try it. First mask tape the top third of W/S on both sides. Make a template out of cardboard of the top of the W/S, A word of cuation here not to cut it too short. Sit on the scooter with center stand and kick stand up . After marking a spot fifty feet in front on the pavement, with a grease pencil mark a spot on the W/S in line of sight where your eyesight penetrates the W/S looking at the 50 foot mark. This is from old school Harley Riders. Move the top of the template down to the mark and line up with top edges of the W/S and trace to W/S outline aligning with the top edge.
I used a jig saw with a metal cutting blade. Worked well. Concentrate carefully on cutting the exact line.
I used a block with diminishing grades of sandpaper to smooth the edges or any small "waves" you will probably get when cutting
I was reluctant to do this myself but it was fairly easy and the results were fantastic. Looks like new.
Total height from bottom to top of screen now is 26". Before cutting it was 29". Wonderlich max height uncut is 24" for comparison.
I also use BMW hand guards that work perfectly with the GIVI. I really do like the GIVI so much better than all the other brands considered. That is the reason I chose to cut down the GIVI and not buy another brand.
