From my post around New Year:

Just had my 6000 mile service done. Plus brake fluid flush and new tires front and rear. Total cost: $786.

It cost me around $250 to have the 6,000 mile check done on my scooter last year including mounting two tires I purchased online. They mounted tires I ordered on line because the dealership didn't have any replacement tires on hand for my scooter. Normally they'll only mount tires purchased from the dealership.

Is a 6000 mile service really necessary assuming you change your own oil?? Can't imagine brake fluid needs to be flushed but I'm no expert on this matter??

Mine was free, as I do my own work. You can collect moisture in break fluid, which can cause problems, although most people never change their break fluid.
Most manufacturers recommend changing it. Cars and bikes.

Snow - I agree, many people including myself never or rarely change the brake fluid. I did it on my vespa myself but will probably wait on the Gt650 for another year or two. The vespa was pretty easy, not sure about the BMW? I just changes the brake fluid on my 2004 Honda Rancher ATV for the first time last year. It was indeed dirty. Hardly ever use the brakes on that thing as the engine braking is so strong. Thanks!
