About to buy

Yes. But it's one of the selection rotation so it does not have a separate space on the screen.

Thank you. I like having the feature. As long as I can "scroll" though the options. I hope to make the buy on a very lightly used 2014 C650gt. I'm excited and hope I can get the price I am hoping for. My friends think I'm nuts for going from a Harley Davidson Sportster 72, a kind of factory chopper, but I sold it yesterday and ready to move forward. I hope to do long distance touring on it and hopefully I can find some riding companions that might want to join me on some cross country exploring.

The GT also has a 'freeze alert' that comes on in the instrument panel when temps get near freezing. Good reminder of the possibility of road ice. As far as I know that function is not switchable. Mine has come a few times. I came to the C650GT from a Goldwing 1800 and really don't miss the big bike. I've had every model of the Goldwing but since I don't make long trips two up now the GT does the job just fine solo. The wife just can't take long runs on the GW anymore, old age is getting to both of us. But I think the GT will work just fine for me for several more years.

Personally I don't think you'll be giving up anything in the handling department or probably top end either. I've had my GT to 114mph according to my GPS. The speedometer is a bit optimistic claiming it was 120mph. It's very possible you might shock your riding friends. I know a couple of guys here who rode the 883 Sportster that quit laughing when they got 'scootered'. These scooters have decent sized wheels, 15", and plenty of ground clearance especially when the shock is on its highest setting. Means a lot of fun in the twisties.

Watch out for the ambient temp display. Mine is '15 GT and the display never reads below 50 deg. F. Others have reported this problem as well. I'm planning to have it taken care of under warranty this spring. If you search this site you will see other posts related to this issue. But that would not dissuade me from buying one of these, they are really a great option for smart people ;)

I was out in a bit of snow today. But by afternoon it was all gone. Not quite cold enough to trip the freeze warning.
