About to purchase a USED 650GT, I have a few questions, help please.

They are indeed a great scooter. I've had my '13 for about a year and a half and other than taking it into the local dealer for a couple of recalls, timing chain tensioner and handlebar switches, and a software update it's been running perfectly. I've had the SW, and Burgman 650 before this one but the 650GT is the best scooter I've been on. When I bought mine in 2/14 it had 69 miles on it and now has about 5,000. That's not a lot but it has to share my road time with my Wrangler and K1100. It has the whole shooting match, heated seats and grips, matching BMW top box with liner all the goodies. I really like the tire pressure monitor, now I check my tire pressure at each ride, now more getting down on the floor with this old body. I think you'll like yours.

hi! i am also 6'-2" and fits me perfectly! better than my burgy of swing! i also have a brand new, never on the road aeroflow touring windscreen that you can have for $100 if you buy the scooter..although in my neck of the woods, i have come across a 2013 650gt with lower seat and a few other things for $6750.00 only has 1500 miles on it.

hickeybond,

Do you still have the windscreen? It is for the 650gt, right? How much taller than stock is it?

It sits a LITTLE higher than stock, but the real difference is in the airflow over it vs. stock. Far less turbulence and a lot quieter.

A few years ago I put a taller than stock windscreen on my 400 Burgman. I don't remember the brand. It felt like there was a hand on the back of my head and shoulders pushing me forward. It didn't take long before I went back to the stock screen. The helmet buffeting seemed preferable to the back pressure. Is there any of this back pressure with the Areoflow?

I don't feel any back pressure at all unless I raise the screen all the way up (which I seldom do). I found a nice stretch of straight road with no traffic and just rode at a steady speed as I slowly raised and lowered the screen till I found a position with minimal noise and buffeting and for the most part I leave it there.

Only exception is if it rains I'll raise it all the way up, and in slow traffic on hot days I'll lower it all the way down... but for the most part I leave it in what I found to be the "optimal" position. I was never able to find this "sweet spot" with the stock shield, by the way.

I agree there is no sweet spot as I change the screen all the time, speed and weather are obviously the big factors

Me, too. Took me quite awhile to figure out how to benefit the most (slow learner), but now I have it down. Love the electronic on the fly adjustment.

I'll never understand why Honda didn't put an electrically operated windshield on the Goldwings. The K1000LT I used to have had one as does the GT. I found both bikes to have the best factory windshields of any I've ridden in over 55 years.

On the C650GT and the K1200LT, the concept of the infinitely-adjustable electric windshield is wonderful... it's just that BMW doesn't seem to know how to design the windshield itself. Thank God there are companies like Aeroflow that DO know how to do this properly.

I found the electrically operated windshield on my K1100LT was great. With the high front of the fairing on that bike the small windshield acted more like a air deflector vane. I stayed dryer in the rain on that bike than either my Goldwing 1500 or 1800. I sure hated to sell that bike but age and arthritis forced the issue.
