Advice on riding gear transaction

SO here is the story,

I bought a riding ballistic Jersey form some place in CA. They sent the a size larger then ordered but it still was too small. I sent it back Aug 10th. I used pay pal to contact them just to ask if they had gotten it. TO even contact them I had to open a case. I did not want to get hostile with a case but I needed to contact them so I opened it. It's not like I escalated it. I got word back they did not get the item back yesterday. They demanded I provide them tracking info. That was lost might have blown out of my truck for all I know. I did not have it. I was told with out that I would be out of luck so I was not happy right there. I followed their directions in sending it back, they did not issue a RA#.

So I asked them to let me know the minute it came back to them. I got a call an hour later telling me it just came in. They said they would exchange it post haste.

Today I got an email from them saying I needed to cancel the dispute before they can send me the item. So they are asking me to trust them, and I do but I have a problem with that demand since once you cancel it there is no other recourse. See here,

We are glad you were able to use the Resolution Center to amicably resolve your dispute.

Remember, a closed dispute cannot be re-opened or escalated to a claim with PayPal. Make sure that you are 100% satisfied with the outcome of this dispute before you close it.

All I wanted to do was contact them not open a Federal case but now that it is open, and they want it closed...... Any advice?

Paypal disputes are basically used for two things:

  • Item not received, as in you paid, but they didn't ship the item or shipped you the wrong item.
  • Item not as described.

Once the dispute is opened, the monies that are the subject of the dispute are held in escrow by PayPal until the dispute is resolved. I can see why they'd want you to close it before sending you something else.

What I would do is the following:

  1. Ask them to issue you a refund.
  2. Close the dispute once the refund is issued.
  3. Purchase the item in the size you want.

IIRC, you'll have to manually resolve it. Just so ya know.

LOL Just when you thought this issue was fixed I just got the shipment on re order and opened it to find something other then what I ordered. I just sent the company this,

<<Hey you are not going to believe this but I re ordered the same high viz green riding jersey and someone at your warehouse sent the WRONG item. Not sure what it is but it looks like a lot of red leather. My guess is it's a lot more expensive then what I actually ordered.

I checked paypal and there was no mistake on my end I paid 103.00 and some change.

You are going to want to send me a call tag to get this sent back to you and I think your company should make all effort to get my what I actually ordered ASAP. Photo attached and no I am not taking it out of the box to see what it is. Might not fit back in there.

It gets even worse. I called and told them what was going on. It seems whatever I got was a custom order, probably big bucks. I did not take it out of the box but it seems to be red,white and black leather jacket, pants or a while body suit. Somehow they sent my order to Ohio and I'd guess their order to me.

So the company does all it can to deal with this issuing me a call tag. I print the tag then try and set up a pick up with UPS. Now get this, UPS does not pick up in my area so it will be a 13.00 fee to pick up! Say again? I mean they deliver here all the time but they can't pick it up? I call BS to the rep on the phone and say something to the extent of hey that is between you and the shipper who sent me the wrong item. Since when does a call tag require anything but leaving the package at the door? I had to leave town so I just basically told UPS to blow off and hung up.

Now when the first order got refunded someone at the place I got my order from made it a point not to refund me the shipping with the original purchase even though their messed up sizes are to blame but I let it go.

Totally not willing to spend 13 bucks on their behalf at this point.

I was off all week this week and I have experienced three cases of really bad customer service. It all started Money when I returned a phone call from my new CPA over tax problems I have. She said and I quote, "Hello. Ryan (the CPA) is not going to have the time to deal with your case so we need you to come by and pick up your stuff". I did not know what to say. They have had my materials for about a month and it took me three weeks to get the IRS transcripts and all W2's needed out sort out a mess. The tone of her voice may have well have been saying, "We need you to come pick up your **** and F off".

NO referral to anyone else.

So after that I had little patience for the other two instances of poor customer service. They will probably figure that out when they hear my message about the wrong item shipped and the 13.00 fee by USS to pick it up.

If you can believe this this story gets even worse today.


Sent the wrong item back and called Tuesday to make sure they got it. They said they did and would send my correct item that day or the next day.

Thursday I get an email from them saying this.

The person who is handling your claim is no longer with us. To my knowledge the item you received was not returned, and before we can send out the correct item we must receive the original item back. I have attached a return label. If you have already returned the item, can you please provide a reference or a tracking number. Please advise.

So at this point I don't know what kinda games this outfit is playing but if they don't send my order post haste I will file with Pay pal, again! This company soundly deserves a review on how my experience with them went.

Too late I opened a dispute with Pay pal. Sent them the tracking number and all I want to hear from them is when my item is getting to me and I want a tracking number.

Rather then send my item after proving I have the tracking number they refunded me leaving me in the Lurch. I have decided that since summer is now over I can start using my regular heavy jacket again and worry about picking something up for hot weather next summer.

TO their Credit they issued me a refund on the shipping from the first order after I told them what they should be doing rather then make excuses and blame the customer is ask what would make the customer happy. It's too late in the season to re order and I did not expect them to refund me that. If they had a clue they would have issued a full refund in the first place. I feel like I am coaching them on points they never considered. Sigh.
