Has anyone installed this? and if so, how difficult or easy was it? Got any pics or vids of the installation?

I'm not familiar with that device. What I did was install Electropods along side the license plate. They are a steady flash. I'll typically modulate my brake lever as cars approach just to ensure they see my bike.

FWIW, I installed one on my Royal Enfield motorcycle. On this particular bike, I chose the Back Off brake module rather than one of the various pulsating LED kits because I didn't want to compromise its vintage military aesthetics. While the Back Off brake light module isn't as attention-getting as the bright LED kits, it is better than no brake light enhancement at all.

I decided to mount my Back Off module within the brake light "box" itself (see below picture) so that it would operate with my front and/or rear brake.

***CAUTION*** If you decide to install the Back Off XP module to your 600/650gt just know that if you release the brake while it's pulsating it WILL trigger a WARNING light on your dash. On the other hand, If you release the brake when light turns solid, it will NOT trigger the WARNING light. The BMW dealer where I had mine installed said there was no way around that. It's system thinks there is something wrong with your lights (when pulsating). Other than that If you can live with the warning lights coming on from time to time than you'll be ok.

So, that must be due to the CANBUS.

Oddly, I installed the hi intensity HyperLites on my BMW R1200RT (w/ CANBUS) and get no such warning.

I get no warning on my Sport with the electropods, but the c600 already has led brake lighting.

Your are correct. If you install separate lights it doesn't affect the computer that triggers the WARNING light. That is the alternative that the BMW dealer gave me. It's only when you are messing with the existing lights and add a module.

Electropods don't have an affect on the WARNINGS. The way you and Catbird set it up is the way to go....This only happens when you install a MODULE.

My BMW's HyperLites kit DOES have a module that I installed in the bike's tail section behind the passenger seat.

My guess is that some manufacturers of aftermarket lights have been engineered specifically to work properly with the CANBUS; this doesn't include the Back Off module.

Well I definitely had the tech guys researching. They had never worked on the 650gt scooter. After looking up info they said that the 650gt does not come with the CANBUS.....Any how, so what do your Hyperlites do? Flicker? Where did you get them? What are they called?

Doesn't have a CANBUS? That's funny. Do they even Google?

I found this...

Here is a pic of what I did. The electropods are cheap, around $20. I took a piece of plastic and made a backing plate to mount the leds.

Yes they flash. electropod makes a load of different led accent lights. The ones you want are the red flashing brake lights. Take a look on youtube. I found them to be the best bang for the buck solution. What I found was when I wired them up to the front brake lever they would activate when I pulled either the front or rear l ever, so it's one circuit between the two. Fairly easy I'd say if your comfortable with basic wiring.

As you can see, I also have a set of HyperLites on my Vespa scooter which are just like the ones on my BMW R1200RT. When activated by the brake lever(s), they come on and pulsate quickly and very brightly...

Okay, Christian. "September Shindig Best RACK" on your license plate frame? Is that what I THINK it means?

I'm going to guess that the hyperlights are an overall better light. They are also a wee bit more expensive, so it becomes a question of budget. Spend more, get more.

Yes, I found it was left behind by the lovely young lady who "bore it all" during the wet t-shirt contest. The party was at my house, so the plate frame was hidden behind the pinball machine, I found it the next morning.

SteveADV might say... There is another example of why I belong on a C600 Sport. And he would be right.
